At the beginning of this September, Fatbardha Restelica, research assistant at INDEP, attended the “Congress of Young Europeans” held in Marseille, France.

This congress brought together actors of climate and democracy, such as Members of the European Parliament from the Netherlands, environmental activists from France, organizations for women’s rights and family planning from Poland, research campaign managers (specifically managers of the mayor of Istanbul, Turkey), and other representatives of different initiatives such as Fridays for Future from the Czech Republic.

Besides panels, the congress held workshops lectured by representatives of different organizations, namely Green Europeans, Executive Committee of the European Green Youth Federation, and Bündnis 90/Die Grünen.

This year’s congress was attended by 60 participants from across Europe. The congress serves as a bridge for young activists on climate and democracy in Europe and beyond. This year marked the 7th edition of the congress which is held annually in another European country. The congress is organized by Heinrich-Böll-Stiftung from Paris, the Green Green Foundation and the European Green Youth Federation.
