The Institute for Development Policy (INDEP), as part of the Democratic Governance Program of INDEP and the framework partnership agreement of INDEP with the European Union Office in Kosovo in the field of consumer protection, today held a roundtable on the role of ERO in consumer protection in the field of energy, which was broadcasted virtually on the page “Mbrojtësit e Konsumatorëve / Kosovo Consumer Watchdog”, from 10:00 to 11:00. The roundtable was moderated by Mr. Dardan Abazi, Senior Researcher and Program Director at INDEP and participated in it, Mr. Gani Buçaj, Head of the Department for Consumer Protection in the Energy Regulatory Office (ERO).
Mr. Abazi opened the roundtable with a summary of the work that INDEP is doing to raise awareness of consumer rights and the legal and institutional monitoring involved in the activities of this project. Whereas, Mr. Buçaj spoke about the activities that the Department for Consumer Protection in ERO carries out, about the competencies that ERO has in the field of energy, the types of complaints they handle, explained the procedure how complaints are handled, legal deadlines for handling complaints and other issues.
