INDEP publishes the paper on urban transformation methods towards sustainability in Kosovo

One of the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) which is of high importance for ensuring qualitative living and well-being for citizens in urban areas and defines the targets and indicators for sustainable urban transformation is SDG 11.

Cities remain areas where most economic activities take place, so the population migrates to ensure a better quality of life. In urban areas, for multiple purposes, there is still dominant inequality, environmental degradation, economic and social exclusion, etc., which need to be addressed to advance the 2030 Agenda.

This paper identifies the terms of SDG 11 and urban sustainability, the main problems that Kosovo cities face, and finally recommends the measures and policies to be implemented to transform Kosovo cities into sustainable areas.
